Minnie Lou Mason

At 78 years young, Minnie Lou Mason received her heavenly wings February 7, 2021. Her love and devotion to her family, and her belief in God ultimately gave her and her family peace that she’s resting now.

Mrs. Mason was born April 11, 1942 and had 5 children. Her love for her family and a zest for life made everyone around her happy with laughter.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charlie Mason of Jasper; son, Frederick (Felicia) Mason; daughters, Vivian Mason, Sharon (Willie) Miller, Cynthia Mason, Dr. Jocelyn (Jeff) Coleman. She leaves behind two loving brothers, Bobby Kidd of Jasper, Ala., and Glenn Kidd Jr. of Minneapolis, Minnesota, along with many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Louberta Kidd; her father, Glenn Kidd Sr.; her brother, Johnson Spates; and her sister and best friend, Irene Beard Patrick.

A Home Going Celebration of Life organized by Aubrey Bushelon Funeral Services, Birmingham, Alabama will be conducted graveside at noon, Feb. 13, 2021 at Gay Reed Cemetery in Jasper, Alabama.
