James T. Stuckenschneider, 76, of Birmingham, AL., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Preceded in death by parents, James T. Stuckenschneider, I and Emma Gene Gainey (Columbus, MS), grandparents, Albert and Margaret Stuckenschneider (Columbus, MS).
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dana Hodges Stuckenschneider, loving hound dog, Stella, sister, Cornelia S. Westenberger, niece, Michelle W. Carrico and great niece, Hope B. Carrico (Scott Hays).
Ted was born on June 21, 1948 in McAlester, Oklahoma. He attended Brainerd High School in Memphis, TN; earned a BA in Education from Memphis State University in 1971. After working several years for Texaco, he decided to pursue a career in law earning his degree from Cumberland School of Law in 1977.
He was a respected and recognized consumer bankruptcy attorney, operating out of his office located in the Frank Nelson building for most of his career. He also taught at Birmingham School of Law, where he mentored countless students.
In addition to his dedication to his career, Ted was a gentleman with boundless enthusiasm for his many interests. As an avid outdoorsman, he formed countless friendships through his love of duck hunting and fishing. He also loved cooking for others and is famous for his annual Duck-Out Event, held at Inverness Country Club. In addition to his culinary adventures, he is responsible for forming The Inverness Wine Club.
Ted and his wife have lived in the Inverness community for 43 years. They have both been strong advocates for the preservation of Lake Heather. Both are active members of Inverness Country Club, Valley Christian Church, and The International Wine & Food Society.
Ted's Memorial Service will commence at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, the 27th of February, at Ridout's Valley Chapel located at 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209. Immediately following, friends are cordially invited to the reception and visitation at Ridout's from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation to the Ted Stuckenschneider Scholarship Fund at Birmingham School of Law.
