Charles F. Johnson was born February 26, 1944, in Birmingham, AL. to Ike and Missouri Johnson. He was the fifth of five children. After graduating from A. H. Parker High School, he attended Tennessee State University and was a 25 year veteran of the United States Air Force. Charles settled in Fayetteville, NC and remained there for 25 years until relocating to Birmingham, Alabama on September 1, 2018. Charles was active in the Masonic Order and in civic affairs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Ike Jr. and Eugene Johnson and a sister, Rosetta Bledsoe. Survivors include: his son, Derrick Johnson (Holly); two grandchildren, Hannah and Zane Johnson from Atlanta, GA; a sister, Sue Delois Potts from St. Petersburg, FL; two sisters-in-law: Danella Johnson and Vivian Johnson; many other beloved relatives and friends, and a special friend Marilyn Edwards Spencer.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 11:45 A.M. at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
