David Hinote, 82, of Huntsville, AL., passed away on December 3, 2017 at his sister Pat Shelnutts home in Birmingham, AL.  David retired from Sherwin Williams Company and continued to work in furniture and floor industry covering business for many more years in Huntsville, AL. He was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Huntsville, AL., which he loved dearly.  David loved GOD, his family, and his dogs dearly, in that order. David spent his life helping others, especially the less fortunate. He was also an active volunteer at Chapman Elementary School, the Salvation Army, and his favorite volunteer work was preparing and giving stockings for needy children every Christmas. David loved to play cards, cook, host Thanksgiving, and plant flowers.

David was born December 9, 1934 in Birmingham, AL to George Dewey and Gussie Lane Hinote. David went to Woodlawn High School, graduated from Birmingham Southern College and served in the Army where he spent several years in Germany.

He is survived by: his sister, Patricia Shelnutt; brother-in-law, Calvin Shelnutt; special nephew, Denny Hicks; along with numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Peggy Hinote; and his three dogs: Kat, Squeeky and Buddy. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Todd Noren-Hentz, presiding.
