"Charlie Jr." as he was affectionately called was born to the late Charlie W. Brewer Sr. and Ruth Payne Brewer in Birmingham, Alabama. The family moved to Fairfield, Alabama in 1956 shortly after his birth.
Charlie Jr. accepted Christ at a young age as a member of Galilee Baptist Church under the guidance of the late Rev. E. J. Walker. While there he was active in the junior and senior choir. His love for music was reflected throughout his life. He loved good gospel and country western music and with his Mother would go from record store to record store to find his favorites. Charlie Jr. was a proud member of Fairfield High School Class of 1973. He received a Hospitality Certificate from UAB-CDLD Center in June, 1978.
Charlie Jr. was preceded in death by his Father, Charlie Sr. and brother Joe Louis Brewer. He is survived by his Mother, Ruth; two brothers Sidney Brewer, Edell (Monica) Brewer, and two sisters: Jurusha Brewer Robinson and Cynthia Brewer Blue (James); Uncles: Edward Brewer, Nathaniel Brewer; Great Aunt Ozell Watkins, Aunts Mary (Melvin) Bean, Retha Brewer Holloway; Lucy Brewer, and Jackie Payne; Nieces, Natilie Miller (Terrance), Erika Brewer, Alicia Brown, Maya Brewer, and Aspen Brewer; Nephews: Jermaine Robinson, Jackie Robinson, Jr., Sidney Brewer Jr., Edell Brewer II, Bretford Brewer, and Maseo Brown. And a special friend Linda Clark.

Public viewing will be at Grey-Bushelon Funeral Services, 2512 29th Ave North, Birmingham on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 2-7pm .Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church Fairfield with Rev. Robert G. Twyman, officiating. and at the Church starting at 9am. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
